“三个人”到底是Three people
还是Three persons呢？
一起学习一下吧。
Person强调的是个体，可以泛指man, woman或child中的任何一个，它的复数形式是Persons，但人们习惯用People代替persons。但是Persons这一复数形式更正式，法律文书和官方文件使用的多是Persons。
People强调的是群体，所以当说一个人的时候，不用people，当表示两个以上的人的时候，就需要用 People了。
其实，Three people和Three persons这两种表达都可以使用，但我们要根据不同的情境使用。强调个人时，三个人就是Three persons；强调整体的时候，我们要说Three people。
例句：
There are 40 students in our class, but only three people passed the exam.
我们班有40名学生，但只有三个人通过了这次考试。
The three persons often play badminton after school.
他们三个人放学后经常一起打羽毛球。
其实“People person” 的意思是指：人缘好的人；善于交际的人。
例句：
You're really a people person. Wherever you are there's always laughter.
你人缘真好，有你的地方就有欢乐。
“Little people”有三种意思，我们先一起看一下英英解释：
第一种：
All the people in a country who have no power
（统称）平民，百姓，小老百姓
第二种：
Extremely small people, who will never grow to a normal size because of a physical problem
异常矮小的人；侏儒；“袖珍”人
第三种：
The little people small imaginary people with magic powers
小精灵；小仙子
例句：
Last night, I had a dream about the little people of fairy tales.
